Perfume
Normally I don’t like so much j-pop bands, but maybe because Perfume uses electronic music in their songs, I like more them than the rest of actual japanese pop bands.
Perfume comes from Hiroshima the names of the three singers are: Ayano Ōmoto, Yuka Kashino and Ayaka Nishiwaki.
They are very popular in Japan, but lately have appeared a lot in TV because of the release of the new single “voice“, this song is in a Nissan commercial and the iida cellphone commercial plays the song “575″.
I putted two of their songs, hope you enjoy them !
Barusan (バルサン)
Now that summer has come you can see a lot of commercials about cockroaches, but this one is really special, I was so surprised when I saw this commercial, it made me remember of ultraman or kamerider, the famous masked japanese super heros.
I have to say that is one of the most original commercial I’ve seen lately, but for me almost all the japanese commercials are so interesting, all days when I watch television I can see a lot of interesting ones, not all of course, but at least you can see this funny and a little weird commercials.
I can only recommend you to check this one out.
Samurai Blue
Now that the 2010 South Africa World Cup is finished I have to say, おめでとうスペイン (Congratulations Spain !), I send to the players all the congratulations they gave me at the job and the school.
I wanted to publish some photos I took at Omotesando in a shop they open with the Japan soccer team, the Samurai Blue.
Is incredible in a country like Japan where the main sport is the Baseball, how the japanese enjoyed this worldcup also because is the first time that Japan goes that far, congrats to them also because of that. Also today there are still showing on TV the best moments of the Samurai Blue.
I was thinking to buy the Japanese soccer team tshirt, but the Spain blue one is very cool !
Strawberries in Harajuku
Maybe you are thinking I’m talking about some shop that is selling strawberries in the neighborhood, but I’m talking about totally different strawberries ! I saw this two girls dressed with their perfect unpolluted strawberry costumes.
Is normal in Tokyo to see this kind of girls that dresses as manga princess, this costumes are really expensive, I don’t know the real price though, I think those two girls where headed to the shop that sells this stuff in La Foret. Check the rest of the pictures after the jump.
Viva Paella !
Viva Paella is a company belonging to the Pizza-La group, Pizza-La is the biggest pizza deliver company in Japan.
Viva Paella makes the same business as Pizza-La but it delivers spanish gastronomy, and as you can guess from the name, the Paella is the most important dish, is also curious all the different types they created.
Besides of Paella they have another spanish dishes, like tapas, churros and spanish wines, a varied choice of spanish gastronomy !
One of these days I have to try ‘em, I’ll write about it then, meanwhile I left here a commercial I could see on Japanese TV, starring the J-pop singers “Buono!“.

iPhone 4
The release of the new iPhone has been an event also in Japan.
There where big cues for getting the iPhone, and for sure this new model is going to be a big success as older models of the iPhone.
I was in Omotesando so I decided to take a look on the Softbank shop near de Harajuku station, and as expected, there were various iPhones 4, for the people to use.
I have to say that I was impressed with the new iPhone, is fast, very fast, the quality of the pictures and video taken was really cool, but for me the most amazing was the new iPhone 4 screen, the retina display, I never seen a screen with that quality and that amount of pixels. When you hold the phone in your hand you feel the construction is really solid, and that Apple made a really good design job.
I am waiting for the white model so I could compare between them when they launch that color, but I have to say that the black color also seems cool to me. You can see more pictures after the jump.
Nobuyoshi Araki
Last week I was very lucky that my friend Luis told me about a exposition from Nobuyoshi Araki, one of the most famous photographers in Japan, we were so lucky because he was there !
Araki was born in Tokyo, studied photography during his college years and then went to work at the advertising agency Dentsu, where he met his future wife, the essayist Yōko Araki. After they were married, Araki published a book of pictures of his wife taken during their honeymoon titled Sentimental Journey. She later died in 1990. Pictures taken during her last days were published in a book titled Winter Journey.
The exposition called “Sentimental Journey, Spring Journey” was really sad, it was about the last moments of Yoko’s cat, Chiro, as Araki says “Chiro showed more love to me than any other woman”. If you wanna see it is held until 18 july at the Rat Hole Gallery in Omotesando.

Magic in the iPad
It’s incredible the things that people are doing with the iPad.
This japanese magician has decided to improve his show using an iPad, with a well coordinated video and the use of other tricks, he creates and incredible iPad experience, watch the video is not that long and it’s very interesting, the video is taken near the Apple Store in Ginza, sadly there’s some noise from the motorbikes.
